Thanks to everyone (filmmakers, audience, sponsors, and supporters) who helped to make the festival a great success. With a sold out opening night and great attendance throughout the festival, we look forward to 2008!

Keep an eye on the website for photos and write-ups about the 2007 festival and also for when the 2008 call for entries opens!

The 2007 Sydney Underground Film Festival will be joined this year by some of the pioneering UBU Filmmakers including Albie Thoms, Paul Winkler, John Clark and David Perry, who first used the term ‘Sydney Underground’ in Australia in the 1960’s. Read more.

SUFF supports protest at APEC

Sydney Underground Film Festival strongly supports the Stopbush campaign. Visit the Stopbush2007 website and see you at the protest 10am Sat 8th at Sydney Town Hall, and afterwards come to our political "Manufacturing Dissent" program session from 7pm at The Factory Theatre Enmore for only $10/ $8 conc. Buy tickets online or at the door.

This festival guarantees to give each film not selected a brief but apt critique. “Due to
the limited number for programming your film has not been selected” is not something
filmmakers will hear from us. Then you can be sure we watched it and we provide each
entrant with something more productive and informative.

The festival is also giving filmmakers, who have been rejected from another film festival, a $5 (AUD) discount! You just have to include a rejection letter that you have received from another film festival with your entry. The festival organisers have also received a few of those in their time and this is a way to put them to good use!

Join our mailing list to keep up to date, sponsor us if you can and help us ensure
the success of the Sydney Underground Film Festival! We look forward to seeing
you all in September.
